Moving
the Embassy and Recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel

The
United States move regarding the transfer of the Israel capital to Jerusalem
has angered Islamic countries, including the Egyptian pyramid. Egyptian
President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said there was a great opportunity for real
peace and stability in the region by finding solutions to problems, and the
solution would not at all oppose security and stability.
Regarding
the "Deal of The Century" sponsored by the United States, Al-Sisi
emphasized Egypt's position to support the establishment of an independent
Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The term "Deal of
The Century" is a media term rather than politics. Egypt will not accept
anything that Palestine does not accept and supports anything they can accept.
Not
only is the Egyptian government angry at the arbitrary actions of the United
States, but the Egyptian people also agree with the Al-Sisi governmental stance
which can be seen from an Egyptian Coptic Church which rejected a meeting
requested by the Vice President of the United States. The church resigned from
its willingness to host when Mike Pence came to Egypt. The church feels
President Trump's decision does not consider the feelings of millions of
people.
Egypt
has provided assistance to the Palestinians to open the Rafah border with the
Gaza Strip during last Ramadan. The border with the Palestinian territories has
long been largely closed but is now open periodically. In addition Egypt has
allowed domestic gas shipments to the Gaza Strip. The opening of the crossing
will ease the economic burden of the brothers in Gaza.
Egypt
and the Arab League strongly oppose Donald Trump's decision on his actions that
have violated human rights, moreover he violated the rules made by the United
Nations. There are two solutions that will be given by Egypt, namely:
1. Formation
of a multilateral mechanism which must involve the United Nations, European
Union, United States, Russia and Arab countries. So that America is no longer
the only mediator in peace negotiations. Seeing the United States favoring
Israel, this peace will not be possible if only the United States is the only
mediator.
2. Egypt
seeks to mobilize Egyptian experts to achieve reconciliation among the
people-Palestinians, in order to have unified leadership for the negotiation of
the Palestinian issue and to negotiate the Palestinian struggle.
As
a good country it is fitting to comply with applicable international law, and
which has been agreed upon by the United Nations. From the point of view of the
humanitarian brotherhood, all religions recognize humanity, and Egypt hopes all
countries can unite against this abuse. This needs to be done to uphold human
values, and maintain the stability and security of the world.
